An industrial visit is an important part of engineering education because it gives students the opportunity to connect the theoretical knowledge gained in classrooms with practical applications in real working environments. As students of Information and Communication Engineering (ICE), understanding how telecommunication networks, network infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and data-related industries operate is particularly important for our academic and professional development.

The Department of Information and Communication Engineering (ICE), Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET), organized a one-day industrial visit to EDOTCO and Fixency in Rajshahi. Students from the 13th, 15th, 17th, and 19th batches participated in the visit. The 13th batch students were from the 4th Year 2nd Semester, while the 15th, 17th, and 19th batch students were from their respective academic levels.

The visit provided us with practical exposure to two different areas related to our field. At EDOTCO, we learned about telecommunication tower infrastructure and the basic architecture of mobile communication networks. At Fixency, located at the Rajshahi Hi-Tech Park, we learned about data annotation, artificial intelligence-related services, and the professional working environment of a technology company.

The visit was therefore a valuable opportunity to understand how the concepts we study as ICE students are applied in actual industries.
