Message from the Head of the Department

Civil Engineering is a branch of professional Engineering that is traditionally broken into a number of sectors and deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. In developing countries like Bangladesh, Civil Engineers will play a vital role in both the development and sustainability of the country in the coming future.

Department of Civil Engineering is one of the leading departments in BAUET with excellent educational, research programs, and laboratory facilities that are well equipped and well maintained. The faculties are highly qualified and skilled for teaching. They are working very hard for the development of our students. The department’s undergraduate students are doing very well. They are very active, constantly reaching out to national and international competitions and seminars. The students also help us to host our own annual inter-university competitions and other competitive programs. We continue to enhance our quality continuously. Our alumni are doing very well in both government and private sectors as well. Hopefully, we will continue our success in the future.
