Executive Summary:
Ground and surface water is one of the most important renewable resources which play a great role into livelihood, economies and agriculture sector in a nation. However, this valuable resource has been defected through various ways. The variation of groundwater and surface water quality in terms of physical, chemical and biological parameters that are greatly influenced by geological formations and anthropogenic activities. Therefore, this issue has given high importance in our daily life as it’s threatening. Till now, there is no research work carried out on the assessment of ground and surface water quality at Bagatipara Upozila in Natore, Bangladesh. Therefore, the aim of this research project is to conduct study on baseline assessment of ground and surface water quality at this area for the first time. During monsoon and pre-monsoon, water sample will be collected from several selected ponds and tubewell/deep-tubewell at Bagatipara Upozila Natore. And then, the physical, chemical and biological parameters of collected water samples will be tested following the standard testing system. Finally, these water quality results will compare with WHO standard values for practical utilizations.
